I'm Chaitanya Vuriti, and this is my story. After journeying through the Australian Outback and the beautiful state of Western Australia, I travelled to Indonesia with Wida, an Indonesian. My travels took me to Bali, Ubud, Nusa Penida, the Gili Islands, and then from Lombok to Labuan Bajo (Flores) via Komodo Island on a 4-day, 3-night boat trip. I've documented these experiences in a photography travelogue, titled "How I Travelled Indonesia," as a testament to my travel tales.
This book is a continuation of my series "How I Travelled Australia." My first travelogue, "Backpacking the East Coast of Australia," reached #1 in the Amazon Best Sellers under the Arts & Photography and Travel categories. Additionally, "My Spirit of Tasmania" reached #1 in the Amazon Best Sellers under the Photo Essays and Australia & South Pacific Travel categories.
The series I've created is a travelogue of my journey through Indonesia, offering a truly personal experience. After my successful ventures in Australia, I was eager to explore the rich cultural and natural diversity of Indonesia. Wida, a local Indonesian, graciously accompanied me on this journey, providing invaluable insights and guidance.
Our adventure began in the renowned island of Bali, where we immersed ourselves in the vibrant local customs, indulged in the mouthwatering cuisine, and marvelled at the stunning landscapes. From the serene beauty of Ubud to the enchanting Nusa Penida, we discovered hidden gems that left an indelible mark on our memories.
Venturing further, we explored the captivating Gili Islands, renowned for their pristine beaches, crystal-clear waters, and thriving marine life. Snorkelling and diving in these idyllic locations allowed us to witness the breathtaking underwater world and connect with the local marine ecosystem.
Our journey then led us to Lombok, where we embarked on a remarkable 4-day, 3-night boat trip to Labuan Bajo, located in the Flores region. This odyssey took us through the magnificent Komodo National Park, home to the enigmatic Komodo dragons, one of the most iconic and awe-inspiring species on the planet.
Throughout this remarkable adventure, I meticulously documented my experiences through photography, capturing the essence of each destination and the stories that unfolded. This travelogue serves as a testament to the wonders of Indonesia, inviting readers to embark on a virtual journey and explore the rich tapestry of cultures, landscapes, and natural marvels that this captivating country has to offer.
